Introduction
Introduction
MaxSuite is one place to run a business from. Projects and tasks, money and books, shops and suppliers, domains and servers, mail and chat, documents and AI agents all live on the same core. In the app it often calls itself Max.
The core does very little on its own. It knows who you are, which organisation you belong to, what you may do, and how to reach you. Everything else is a module that plugs into it: Tasks, Costs, Domains, Agents and about a hundred more. Each module brings its own screens, permissions, scheduled jobs and agent tools.
A MaxSuite shows only what it installed
Not every MaxSuite runs every module. Whoever runs it chooses which modules are installed, which are switched on, and which your organisation may use. A module that is not there adds nothing: no sidebar entry, no screens, no tools.
So if a page here describes something you cannot find in your sidebar, nothing is broken. That module is not installed or switched on for you, or you do not hold the permission that shows it. Workspaces and modules explains the three things a module needs before it appears.
How the app is laid out
- The sidebar on the left lists the modules you can use, grouped into sections. You can fold a section away.
- The top bar shows where you are, a search box (
⌘KorCtrl+K), the notifications bell, and your account menu. - The foot of the sidebar holds Help for everyone, and Modules, MaxIAM and Requests for platform administrators.
The sidebar has these sections, always in this order:
| Section | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Home | The dashboard, chat, getting started, search, reports and reminders |
| Projects | Projects, tasks, planning, ideas, project brains, readiness, time, kits and the librarian |
| Work | Contacts and support |
| Agents | Agents, AI connections, approvals, briefings, agent memory and skills |
| Automation | Automations, chains, event rules and pipelines |
| Content | Documents, outlines, diagrams, pages, posts, the blog, landing sites, publishing and the changelog |
| Files | Folders, media, links, doc sync and doc retrieval |
| Communications | Comms, mail, forwarding, conversations, booking and intake |
| Social | Dunno, Gorilla Cam, the recorder and the reply desk |
| Commerce | Shops, gateways, the catalogue, supplier orders, stock, sourcing, the marketplace, MaxFill and the scraper |
| Money | Accounts, vaults, costs, the books, invoices, bills, bank feeds, the bills inbox, wallets and extraction |
| Servers & apps | The infrastructure map, monitoring, services, Coolify, DigitalOcean, Contabo, hosting panels, devices and Shield |
| Domains & network | Domains, DNS, edge and MaxVPN |
| Connections | Connectors, X, MCP, connected apps, GitHub, Google, integrations, sync, passwords, WhatsApp and WeChat |
| Admin | People and organisations, AI spend, push devices, workspaces and durable runs |
A section appears only when at least one of its modules is installed and visible to you. The manual's sections are being moved to match this list; some pages still sit under their old section.
How these docs are organised
- Getting started walks through signing in, finding your way, a first project, adding a colleague and connecting an agent.
- Concepts explains the ideas every module leans on, including Public links and sharing and Public sites.
- Your account covers the screens that belong to MaxSuite itself: your profile and sign-in, appearance, notifications, secrets, modules, organisations, requests, MaxIAM and help.
- One page per module, in sidebar order.
- The Glossary defines the words the product uses.
Which version these docs describe
These docs describe main as of 2026-11-07. A MaxSuite running an older or newer build may differ.
