Ideas
Ideas is a board of ideas for each project: things nobody has agreed to do yet (module ideas). Ideas are not work, so they never show in Tasks, Focus, Sort, overdue lists, team load or reports.

What you see
Pick a project, or Unfiled, to see its board. Ideas sit in stages:
- New: just added.
- Worth trying: someone thinks it is worth a go.
- Picked: agreed; ready to become work.
- Parked and Dropped: put aside.
Nothing moves between stages by itself. Each idea shows its 👍 votes, and the board sorts by votes. Open an idea to see its note, links, comments, votes and what it became.
Unfiled ideas belong to no project yet. Only whoever added them sees them.
What you can do
Add an idea and turn it into work
- Open Ideas and pick the project, or Unfiled.
- Type the idea in the box under New and press Enter.
- Open it to add a note, links or a comment. Others can vote with 👍 (one vote each; press again to take it back).
- Move it between stages as the team decides.
- When it is picked, press Make a task, Make an epic or Record as decision. The idea moves to Picked, and the idea and the new task, epic or decision each keep a link to the other. An epic or a decision needs the idea to be in a project.

- Send the bot
/iand the idea, for example/i a referral discount. - Name a project in the line to file it there:

Who can see an idea
You see the ideas in projects you can see, and your own unfiled ideas.

Promoting an idea into a task, epic or decision also needs the right to create that thing in Tasks, Planning or Brain.
What runs on its own
Nothing in this module runs on a schedule.
For agents
Agents can note ideas you mention, read boards and turn picked ideas into work. Writes go through your approval rules. See Agents and approvals.
Read (read-only): ideas.list (a project's board, most votes first), ideas.get (one idea in full).
Change: ideas.create (one or more ideas at once), ideas.update (title, note, stage, project, links), ideas.vote (as the person the agent acts for), ideas.comment, ideas.promote (into a task, an epic or a decision).
Over MCP the same tools are named ideas__list, ideas__create and so on.
