Librarian
Librarian
The librarian keeps every project's parts filed (module librarian). It follows real links to find the domains, servers, apps, monitors, mail and shops that belong to each project: an app's address, a domain's DNS, the server an address points at, a monitor's target, a mail address's domain, the server an app runs on.
In the sidebar under Projects → Librarian. Needs: Projects.
A thing linked to two projects is marked shared and never attached by itself. Something a person filed is never moved.
What you see
The page has four tabs.
Review
Things that look like they belong to a project, one group per project, each with its reasons. For each thing you can accept it, say Not this project, or say it belongs to no project. Accept all accepts a whole group. Every answer is remembered: a thing you refused is not asked again unless its evidence changes. With nothing waiting it says "Nothing to review".
Report
What the librarian would do for every project, changing nothing: what it is sure of, what looks likely, and what is shared between projects, each with its reasons. Refresh reads again.
Runs
Each run, with when it ran, what started it and what it attached. Undo this run takes back everything that run filed. Something a person moved since stays where they put it.
Settings
- Self-attach: when on, the librarian files the links it is sure of by itself. It is off until someone switches it on.
- Hosts never used as evidence: addresses the librarian ignores when it looks for links, at most 50.
What you can do
Connect everything for a project
Ask an agent, or run the librarian. It files what it is sure of (only when self-attach is on, and only into projects you may edit) and puts the rest up for review with reasons.
Answer the review
Open Review, read the reasons, and accept, refuse or mark "no project". Accepted things are filed under the project and appear on its home page.
Who can do what
| Permission | Label | Lets you |
|---|---|---|
librarian:read | See what the librarian found for each project | Open the page, read the report, review and runs |
librarian:write | Run the librarian and answer its questions | Run it, answer review items and undo a run |
librarian:manage | Switch self-attach on or off and set what it ignores | Change Settings |
What runs on its own
| Job | When | What it does |
|---|---|---|
sweep | Every day at 03:30 UTC (30 3 * * *) | Runs the librarian in each organisation with projects. It files sure links only where a person switched self-attach on, and puts the rest up for review. |
For agents
Read (read-only): librarian.report (what belongs where, changing nothing), librarian.review (what waits for a person), librarian.why (why a thing is filed where it is, and by whom), librarian.runs (the last 30 runs), librarian.settings.
Change: librarian.run (file and queue for review, for one project or all), librarian.decide (accept, refuse or no project), librarian.undoRun, librarian.updateSettings (self-attach and ignored hosts).
Over MCP the same tools are named librarian__report and so on. There is a Librarian agent template you can start from in Agents.
