Bank feeds
Bank feeds
Bank feeds connects a bank account read-only, so the books can keep up with it by themselves. Airwallex is the first bank. A connection can only read: a key that can pay out is never accepted, and the key is never shown again after it is saved.
In the sidebar under Money → Bank feeds. Needs Costs and Vaults.
What works today: connecting an account, seeing its wallets and their balances, replacing the key, and archiving. Pulling transactions, tying each wallet to a vault from a chosen day, and comparing the bank with the vault are not built yet.
The Bank feeds screen
Bank accounts connected read-only, and the vaults their wallets feed. With nothing connected, the page says No bank connected.
Connections
Each connected account, its environment (Demo or Production), the entity whose books it belongs to, its health, and its currency wallets with their last balance as the bank wrote it. A wallet not tied to a vault says Not tied to a vault. A wallet known only by its IBAN says screenshots printing it will not be tied to it automatically.
Connect Airwallex
- Choose Connect Airwallex.
- Pick the Environment. Demo is Airwallex's test account with no real money. Production is the real account.
- Give it a Label, such as "Planit HK · Airwallex". New vaults are named after it.
- Enter the Client id and the API key. Use a key made with Read access and nothing else.
- Choose the Entity whose books the account belongs to. If the books are not installed, the account is not tied to an entity.
- Choose the Time zone. Each transaction's day is worked out in this zone, and it cannot change once a transaction is kept.
- The dialog shows the address this server calls from, so you can allow it in Airwallex.
- Choose Test. It signs in and reads the account, saving nothing.
- Airwallex does not say what a key may do, so tick This key can only read yourself.
- Save. Saving only works after a passing test.
Replace a key, rename or archive
Replace key swaps the key after a new test. You can also rename a connection, switch it off, or archive it. Connecting, replacing the key and archiving can only be done by a person in the app, never by an API key or an agent.
Wallets
Each wallet can feed one vault of the same currency, from a day you choose. The vault then shows that it is fed from the bank. Account numbers tie screenshots of statements to the wallet.
